About the Heron pattern:

The heron is a beautiful bird with long legs and a beak that give it a slender appearance similar to that of a crane. In China, the Chinese word for heron has the same sound as the Chinese character for "road" and is associated with "一路連科," which means to pass the most difficult examinations in a row and has been considered a pattern of congratulations. In Japan, it has been used on kimonos and is one of the most popular patterns for a long time.
It is also a good gift for students preparing for entrance exams or job hunting.
